FIGS: First Year Interest Group Seminar

Peer Instructor: "Exploring Nutrition"

As a peer instructor for the FIGS program, I was given the privilege of creating and instructing my own accredited 10-week class titled "Exploring Nutrition." I was able to teach this class to 25 first-year students at Rutgers University independently after attending various training sessions and creating detailed lesson plans for each week. This experience has given me an opportunity to build on my leadership skills, teach my major to other students in the university community and created a new passion for education.

The following link will bring you to the 10-week lesson plan that was used for this course:

For this project, under the supervisor of Linda Hudak, M.S., RDN, I was given the opportunity to analyze data from pre and post implementation of the diet order writing privileges to show the efficacy and financial stewardship to the hospital.
